Our Mission
Our mission is to provide teenage emerging artists with the artistic space to self-express, reflect, and identify with and through their surroundings; empowering the voices of youth in in the Southwest and beyond while promoting an artistic and educational dialogue at both the hemispheric and local level. Imagenes de Movemiento brings together teens, family, educators and artists to think creatively, and resourcefully, about the future of their urban environment.
About the Project
Imagenes de Movimiento works with teenage youth and young adults aged 13-21 within New Mexico to foster youth agency, develop a global consciousness within the Americas, and create a community response toward programming in arts education and growth.
Imagenes de Moviemiento offers 10 summer residencies per annual year in 2 chosen disciplines ranging from performance art, literary media, dance and corporeal expression, theatre arts, media and visual arts. With permanent staff and guest artists serving as artistic advisors, residencies are a space for experimentation, growth, and self direction over the course of one to three months.
Who We Are
Our office is run by 3 full time, permanent staff and resident artists, responsible for administrative, technical, and artistic needs that support the project. In addition, we welcome a series of guest artists from across the U.S., Central, Latin America, and Europe for seasonal programming.

Photography in Barrio Oculto
Both photos shown here are the product of Samanta Cordoba, active participant with the Argentine photography and education program, Fundacion ph15. Recently displayed at the Centro Cultural Recoleta in Buenos Aires, the photos taken by youth at ph15 help us to envision our own possibilities for artistic, and personal, reflection as time goes by.
